Gus Ultrasound Probe Cabinet
The Gus Ultrasound Probe Cabinet is designed to provide a controlled, sanitary storage environment for ultrasound transducers that have already been disinfected. The cabinet maintains a continuous flow of clean air using a HEPA filter and a low-noise fan, ensuring positive pressure to reduce recontamination. Probes are stored vertically in specialty shelves to protect connector ends and cables, and the cabinet includes a lockable door and a viewing window for visual inspection. An indicator light notifies when the filter needs changing. The design supports up to six vaginal, rectal or general-purpose probes (in the CAB-VR version), or up to three TEE probes (CAB-TEE version). Cleaning is achieved via standard hospital disinfectants; the cabinet should be placed in a dry, ventilated area to maintain airflow and equipment life.
The GUS Storage System comes in two variations: To hold up to six Vaginal, Rectal and General Purpose probes and to hold up to three TEE probes. Joint Commission and probe manufacturers recommend storing probes in a manner to protect them from damage and contamination. In addition, hang probes vertically in a cabinet and store in a clean, dry environment.
