Wi-Fi Connectivity & EMR Integration

The X8 ships with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n built in as standard. There is no Wi-Fi dongle to purchase separately, and no driver installation is required — connect to your existing hospital wireless network during initial setup.

Built-In Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n

• Wireless connection to central monitoring station — live vital sign streams from multiple X8 units to a single nursing station display — no bedside cabling, no port patching

• Compatible with existing hospital Wi-Fi infrastructure — standard 802.11 b/g/n protocol — your IT team configures it the same way as any other networked clinical device

• Simultaneous multi-bed monitoring from one station — Edan CMS software supports concurrent feeds from multiple monitors — one nurse can oversee multiple bays without leaving the station

EMR & HL7 Integration

• HL7 output for bi-directional HIS communication — vital sign data writes directly into the patient record — eliminates manual transcription errors during high-volume shift periods

• AES-encrypted USB data export — data exported to USB is encrypted at rest — compliant with clinical data security requirements for portable media

Note: USB data exported from the X8 is AES-encrypted. A standard computer cannot open these files without Edan CMS or CMS Lite III software. If your workflow requires offline data review, add CMS Lite III to your order — or configure your unit with the optional thermal printer for immediate bedside-printed records.

Central Monitoring Station Compatibility
