Finger Block
A Finger Block is a small positioning aid used in radiographic imaging to stabilize and align individual fingers or the hand during X-ray examinations. It helps maintain proper orientation (especially for oblique views) and reduces movement artifacts. Finger Blocks are often crafted from foam (open or closed cell), which is radiolucent (i.e., allowing X-rays to pass through with minimal shadowing). Some blocks are designed for left or right hands, and others are ambidextrous. The surfaces may have non-slip or textured finishes to reduce slippage. During imaging, the block is placed under or beside the finger, supporting it at the correct angle or orientation required by the projection protocol.
