Sklar's® Simpson Obstetrical Forceps are an OB/GYN instrument used for aid in delivery a baby in an ideal occiput anterior position. They are the most common type of forceps utilized when the use of forceps is necessary. They feature an inline handle and long, fenestrated, smooth, teardrop shaped, blades. This is also referred to as having a cephalic curve. Simpson obstetrical forceps are similar Elliott forceps; however, the Simpson instrument has parallel shanks, whereas Elliott forceps have overlapping shanks. The overall length of this product is 12 inches, with a 7-1/2" blade.
